Meet Dr. Mark D. Norland
Dr. Norland grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and attended Marquette University as part of the Pre-Dental Scholars Program, where he earned a degree in biological sciences. He continued at Marquette for dental school, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
After dental school, Dr. Norland completed a one-year oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at Carle Hospital in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. He then completed a four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines VA in Chicago. His training included a wide range of procedures, including wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, facial trauma and reconstruction, oral pathology, and corrective (orthognathic) jaw surgery.
Dr. Norland is a board eligible oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is licensed to practice dentistry in Wisconsin with certification to perform general anesthesia in the office. He is on the hospital staff in the Thedacare and Affinity Health systems. His memberships include the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Dental Society, and Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He attends continuing education meetings regularly for his specialty.
He and his wife, Regan, are enjoying being back in Wisconsin. Outside of the office, Dr. Norland enjoys all things food— he loves cooking, trying new restaurants, and exploring in the kitchen. He’s also an avid runner, enjoys playing golf, and likes spending time on the water whenever he can. Along with their dog, Henri, they love spending time outdoors together and discovering local spots.
